With KUARIO, you don't always have to use your smartphone to pay or identify yourself. You can easily link an existing RFID card (such as your public transport card, student ID, or gym pass) to your account.

In this article, you will learn which cards are compatible and how to link them in a few steps via the KUARIO HybridPay Terminal (HPT25).

ℹ️ What do you need?

To link a card, it must meet the following conditions:

• Card type: A card with a modern RFID chip (frequency 13.56 MHz), such as MIFARE or MIFARE DESFire.

• Terminal: A KUARIO HPT25 terminal.

• Setting: The RFID Link Service must be activated on the terminal.

Tip: Most standard student IDs and public transport cards operate on this frequency and are perfectly suitable for secure use.                                                                                                       

⚙️ Step-by-step plan: Linking your card

Follow the steps below to register your card. Make sure you have the KUARIO app installed on your phone and are logged in.

1. Scan the card: Hold your RFID card (e.g., your student ID) in front of the reader on the KUARIO HPT25 terminal.

2. Generate QR code: The terminal recognizes the card and displays a unique QR code on the screen.

3. Open the KUARIO app: Take your smartphone, open the KUARIO app, and select the option to scan a QR code.

4. Scan the code: Scan the QR code displayed on the terminal screen with your phone.

5. Name the card: Enter a recognizable name for the card in the app (for example, "My Student ID" or "Transport Card"). This helps you identify the card later in your overview.

6. Confirmation: A notification will appear in the app confirming the link was successful. Your card is now ready for use!

7. Finish: Press "Stop" on the terminal (below the QR code) to end the process on the device.

What can I use the card for?

Once linked, your card acts as a direct link to your KUARIO balance. You can use the card for:

• Payments: At vending machines, cash registers, or printers.

• Identification: For access to areas like the library or canteen (if configured at the location).
